I made a tiny Inbox Zero reset for you

Hi Reader,

So many people are feeling behind on email, so I put together a tiny Inbox Zero 3‑Day Reset for you.

It’s not a big project or a full system. It’s three quick, focused days to:

  • Clear out the worst of the clutter
  • Separate “stuff to do” from “stuff to delete”
  • Set up a simple routine so your inbox stops feeling like a to‑do list screaming at you

Here’s what it looks like:

  • Day 1: 15‑minute triage session to delete and archive
  • Day 2: Create your “Action” system and use the 2‑minute rule
  • Day 3: Set up a super simple daily email habit

Inbox Clean Out

If you’re up for it, here is your task for Day 1:

1. Sort your inbox by sender - This groups emails from the same person or company together, which makes decisions easier.

Look for a button or option that says things like: “Sort” “Filter” “Sort by” Choose Sender or From.

If you can’t find that option, don’t worry. Just scroll down your inbox and look for: Newsletters, Stores, Apps, Old conversations you don’t need anymore

2. Decide what to do with one group at a time
You’ll repeat this pattern again and again:
Choose one sender (for example: a clothing store, newsletter, or app).

Ask yourself: “Do I really need to keep these emails?” “Will I ever read or use them?”

Then do ONE of these:
Delete: If you don’t need them at all.
Archive: If you might want them later but don’t need to see them now.

If you feel unsure, use this simple rule:
If it doesn’t need action and you wouldn’t miss it if it disappeared, delete or archive.

You are not going to break anything. If you archive by mistake, you can still search for it later.

3. What “no overthinking” looks like
You don’t need to open every single email. Look at the sender name and subject line. Decide in under 3 seconds: “Keep in inbox?” “Delete?” “Archive?”
If you get stuck on one email, skip it and move to the next group. Don’t let one tricky message slow you down.

4. When the timer goes off, you’re done
When 15 minutes is up, stop. Notice the small win: Maybe you cleared 50 emails. Maybe you cleared one annoying sender from your inbox.

That’s enough for Day 1. You don’t have to reach zero today.

Tomorrow I’ll send you Day 2 to build on that progress.

xx,

Kath
